BALLY TECHNOLOGIES NAMES ALLWIN LANGUAGE AS ITS DIRECTOR OF SOUTH AFRICA OPERATIONS

LAS VEGAS, Nev. Sept. 8, 2008 – Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines, casino management systems, and networked solutions for the global gaming industry, announced today that Allwin Language joined the Company as Director of South Africa.  In his new role, Language will be responsible for all administrative, sales, and service operations in the company’s Johannesburg office.

The appointment of Language comes on the heels of the opening of Bally’s new office in Johannesburg and Bally’s re-entrance into the South Africa market.

Bally Technologies’ Vice President of International, John Connelly, said, “We are thrilled to be back in South Africa under a direct sales model and have demonstrated our commitment to this market and its opportunities by opening an office and appointing Allwin to manage the business. Allwin’s knowledge and extensive sales and marketing experience in Africa’s gaming industry will help continue to advance Bally’s presence in the fast-growing South Africa market.” 

Language brings more than 12 years of sales and marketing experience in Africa to his new position, including nearly two years as a Technical and Sales Manager for Bally Technologies in the late ‘90s.  Prior to rejoining the Company, Language held a Sales & Marketing Director role with International Gaming Technology (IGT) Africa.
 
During his career, Language earned the “Supplier of the Year” and the “Best Medium Stand” awards during the 1999/2000 Gaming For Africa Show, and obtained the largest slot machine order worldwide for UDNSA.
