Relationship provides Bally Systems customers with integration
benefits for smooth implementation of high-speed networked floors
LAS VEGAS, November 14, 2008 – Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines, and casino management software for the global gaming industry, today announced an expanded relationship with Cisco Systems, naming Cisco its preferred provider of high-speed Ethernet networking for casino-floor environments.
Bally’s expanded relationship with Cisco, combined with the Company’s experience working with Cisco on the implementation of a number of high-speed networked casino floors, ensures a much smoother, more seamless implementation for Bally Systems customers looking to move to the Networked Floor of the Future.
“We have worked closely with Cisco on networked casino-floor implementations for some of our largest enterprise customers,” said Bruce Rowe, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Bally Technologies. “The combination of Bally’s industry-leading technology with Cisco’s world-class networking solutions ensures a powerful, secure integration.”
Rowe added that many Bally Systems customers already use Cisco networks for their mission-critical back-of-the-house network management; moving forward with a Cisco network for the casino floor ensures communications operability across multiple networks and systems.
Bally also announced that Cisco will provide all the networking equipment for its 11,000 square foot exhibit at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) November 18- 20 in Las Vegas. Cisco’s presence will include switches designed specifically for the casino floor, providing interactive video content and secure data transactions with zero-touch administration. Also featured will be Cisco switches designed for hospitality rooms. Cisco will have representatives on hand to talk with gaming operators interested in high-speed networked floors.
“We’re thrilled to showcase at G2E how Cisco’s network hardware, software, and consultation services complement Bally’s full suite of networked gaming solutions, which include Download Configuration Manager™, iVIEW™ Display Manager™, and our Business Intelligence Solutions™,” said Walt Eisele, Bally’s Vice President of Advanced Systems Development. “This Bally technology, combined with Cisco’s powerful and highly secure network platform, gives gaming operators unprecedented command and control of their casino floors along with cutting-edge enterprise-wide marketing and promotions capabilities never before available.”
Bally’s experience working with casinos to implement high-speed networked floors is substantial, with 86 Bally Systems customer sites with networks of over 50,000 machines connected via Ethernet.
“Bally Technologies has been a good partner to Cisco during the course of several implementations of our high-speed network solutions at casinos from coast to coast,” said Jeff Cristee, Area Vice President of U.S. Sales for Cisco. “We are honored that Bally has named us their preferred networking provider to help transform the high-growth and dynamic gaming industry. As network capabilities become increasingly important on the casino floor, we look forward to working closely with Bally to offer our experience in deploying mission-critical networks that help the gaming industry fully capitalize on Bally’s groundbreaking networked gaming solutions.”
