LAS VEGAS, April 21, 2009 — Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines, and casino-management systems for the global gaming industry, today announced that it has leased an additional 41,000 square foot facility in Reno, Nev. from Panattoni Development Company, reinforcing the Company’s commitment to its Reno-area employees and customers.
The Company signed a new, seven-year lease for approximately 41,000 square feet of additional space at 900 Sandhill Road to augment Bally’s current facilities at 950 Sandhill Road, 300 Sierra Manor Drive, and 4816 Longley Lane. This will provide Bally’s 346 Reno-based employees – which consists primarily of Research & Development, customer service, product management, and technical support personnel -- with more workspace in a campus-style environment. The new property will accommodate future expansion for Bally’s business in the Reno area as well as help consolidate multiple offices.
“We have had a presence in Reno for more than 20 years, and have had very positive experiences with the community and the Reno employee base,” said Gary Kapral, Bally’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources. “Reno offers a strong gaming talent pool and is very business friendly, which is why we took advantage of an opportunity to create a long-term campus environment on Sandhill Road with a supportive building owner in Panattoni.”
Kapral said that while Bally is closely managing its workforce, the Company continues to hire team members in Reno as well as other locations around the globe to ensure that it is aligned with customer and business needs.
