Press Releases
LAS VEGAS, April 5, 2010 — Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines, networked and server-based gaming systems for the global gaming industry, today announced the award of an enterprise-wide deal with Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISLE) to install a full suite of Bally systems at Isle of Capri properties.
“We are pleased to welcome Isle of Capri Casinos back as a Bally partner on a large scale and look forward to a productive partnership as we implement our most cutting-edge systems and server-based solutions,” said Richard Haddrill, Chief Executive Officer of Bally Technologies.
Isle of Capri signed a master agreement for enterprise-wide installation of Bally’s SDS® slot-management system, and will select, based on individual property needs, from an array of Bally marketing, player communications, and media-management solutions including iVIEW™ player-interface displays; the award-winning iVIEW Display Manager™ (DM) casino and employee server-based interface for the game display; Bally’s Power Bonusing™ suite of bonusing, gaming, and promotions; and the CoolSign™ property-wide media management system.
Bally's SDS provides customers with a competitive and scalable slot management system utilizing a modern scalable architecture. The SDS solution delivers flexibility, easy maintainability, and horizontal and vertical scalability for any size of casino operation.
“We’ve been impressed with Bally’s commitment to systems and the sustained improvements in their product offering, and we’re excited about the solutions they offer to give us centralized control of our technology, as well as both forward and backward compatibility,” said Virginia McDowell, President and Chief Operating Officer of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. “Our partnership with Bally will enable us to introduce new solutions of our own design, at our own pace, and provides a steady stream of cutting-edge technology into the future as we implement our two-brand strategy across our portfolio.”
McDowell added, “As we prepare for the migration of systems to Gaming Standards Association (GSA) standards, we believe Bally is positioned to take us there, while also protecting our past and current investments.”
As one of the few founding members of GSA, Bally actively supports all GSA protocols without exception, pioneered the use of GSA’s System to System (S2S) protocol in 2005 in the Class II markets, and today has 31 S2S protocol-based interfaces live at various casino sites. To provide a smooth transition path to the Game to System (G2S) standard, Bally created a SAS to G2S translator board, which allows a legacy slot floor to communicate to the system via GSA standards. In addition, more than 36,000 of Bally’s iVIEW player-interface devices are connected to server-based systems via the G2S protocol, which enables configuration and content management as well as full slot system functionality.
Pending regulatory approval, Bally will begin implementing its solutions for Isle of Capri in the second half of calendar year 2010.
